“We are increasingly learning about Epic when we introduce Ramayana every year. Our higher class of six students went to India and spent time in Himachal Pradesh and Haridwar in Sri Ram Ashram, Mount Madonna School’s sister school,” says Chelsea Otterness. “Seniors learned more about the characters they depict and were surrounded by the vibration of Indian culture to accept other cultures.”

I never thought that 10,000 kilometers from India would see a game in Ramayana. Like many Indians, I have grown up on the stories of ancient epic and I remember discussing and thinking with friends and family about some events and decisions of the protagonists in the story. I also have many sweet memories associated with font stories. I remember many summer holiday nights, lying under the cold evening sky in my mother’s grandmother’s house in Chandigarh when we and my cousins and I huddled around our grandfather to hear and practice countless stories from Ramayana. The description of our drink in the exact details of the sitaji in its diverse jewelry was such that we were transformed into another world.
The production show on the Holy Scripture was founded by members of the Hanuman scholarship center, a non -profit organization founded by students Baba Hari Dass and Mount Madonna School (belonging to the Hanuman social center).
Ramayana was introduced by teacher and Yoga Master, Baba Hari Dass. In 1972, students of Hanuman Fellowship performed on yoga retreats and then in various places, including universities. Initially, some children were members of the mainly cast for adults, but in 1979 the school Mount Madonna started production with students and other children who formed the cast. After the launch of parallel productions for several years, the school show developed into an exclusive program.

Enthusiastic absorption of ancient Scripture of Oriental School Students in the US as the subject of its Performing Arts program and long -term success of effort is fascinating. Although the artistic merits of production can be strengthened in different dimensions, a demonstration of a long and difficult story in less than four hours seemed to be its own Hercules success.
On the plain set of Grandios and costume spell, the game left nothing more that could be asked. All the ingredients of children’s entertainment were present and adults avoided the efforts and the resulting pleasure of young artists.
