The Saras mela continues after it remained closed on Wednesday

The National SARAS Mela-2026, which is being held at Punnami Ghat in Vijayawada, reopened on Thursday after it remained closed on Wednesday due to rain warnings issued for the city.

NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha said the mela, which began on October 15, would end on October 31 and urged people to use the remaining two days to visit the exhibition and support women entrepreneurs.

Mr. Lakshmisha visited the exhibition and interacted with Lakhpati Didis from various states to inquire about sales and visitor response. He said the mela showcased a wide variety of products made by women self-help groups, including handicrafts, traditional artefacts, household items, textiles and region-specific products.
