BC R&B Minister Janardhan Reddy was addressing the media at TDP office in Mangalagiri on Wednesday.
Andhra Pradesh Roads and Buildings Minister BC Janardhan Reddy on Wednesday alleged that there were serious irregularities in Tirumala during the YSRCP tenure, saying the sanctity of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) was compromised under the leadership of former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Addressing the media at the TDP headquarters in Mangalagiri, Mr. Janardhan Reddy said that the irregularities committed during the tenure of the YSRCP are gradually coming to light.
He said the alleged use of adulterated ghee in the preparation of the sacred laddu prasadam had sparked a nationwide outrage. Devotees’ facilities were grossly neglected, forcing the pilgrims to face serious inconvenience, the minister claimed. Mr. Janardhan Reddy said people are getting clarity about the irregularities and the role played by the then TTD chairman.
Refraining from elaborating further “because it is a matter before the court”, he said the coalition government had started to fix the system by ensuring strict quality testing of all ingredients used in prasadam and other services, including donated materials.
He said the government has decided to allow 90% of the regular devotees to have darshan on the auspicious Vaikuntha Ekadasi. According to him, the public response to the ruling of the coalition government was positive.
Highlighting the development initiatives, the minister said that under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, industrial investment, recruitment drives and infrastructure projects were accelerating. He also announced major road works worth ₹3,000 crore and ensured the completion of key projects within the stipulated dates. He also distributes Christmas greetings to the public.
