The roof of a shed collapsed on the premises of Sri Surbramanyeswara Swamy Temple at Mopidevi in Krishna district on Saturday evening. However, according to devotees, no one was injured. The incident occurred when several devotees were in the shed where ‘Annaprasanams’ and ‘Aksharabyasams’ are performed.
Devotees expressed their anger over the negligence of the temple management. According to locals, this was the second such incident to take place at the Mopidevi Subramanyeswara Swamy Temple. In 2024, the roof of the same shed collapsed, according to devotees who urged Endowments Department officials to conduct an inquiry and take action against negligent staff.
