The Department of Women and Children, together with the female subcommittee of Dasar, organized a competition Rangoli at the head of Mysuro Palace as part of Dasar celebrations. More than 150 women participated with enthusiasm and presented their creativity through various topics.
Shwetha TD of Nanjangud Taluk emphasized the risk of mobile phones and social media addictions through its topic “Don’t be addicted”. Spandana from Mysur depicted a woman and a lamp inspired by Gruho Jyoti from the State Government.
Other remarkable works included Nirmala from Tumacur, depicting the goddess Chamundeshwari sitting on the tiger, Sindhu Lakshmi drew the goddess Durg with an elephant, Lakshmi of Davanagere depicting pride of being born as a woman, and Vijaanagar illustrate Nandi and Shivaling.
Rangolis showed the hill Chamundi Gopura, Lord Ganesha in the OM symbol, the royal coat of arms of Gandaberund, Peacock, Elephant Dasara, Car and Balakrishna attracted the attention of visitors.
Previously, the MLA for Krishnaraja TS Srivatsa launched a Rangoli competition that offered floral honors to the Arjunan elephant Rangoli created by the artist Pueet of Kurbarahalli.
