Most parts of the state, with the exception of the southern districts, experienced active monsoon conditions influenced by the low -pressure area created over the Bay of Bengal. According to the weather bolder issued by the Indian meteorological department (IMD) on Thursday, the system has now weakened into a low -pressure area over South Odisha and the adjacent Chhattisgarhem on Thursday.
Strong winds from the western and northwest direction, however, blow through the Keral and Lakshadweep area at lower tropospheric levels, leading to severe to very strong precipitation across the state, especially in northern and medium districts. IMD has issued a yellow warning for nine districts in the state, except for the districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Pathanthitta and Kottayam, where in the next 24 hours is probably insulated heavy rainfall. The repeated monsoon shower probably prevails over the state for at least a few more days.
