Due to the increased demand when traveling by train during the upcoming festival season, Indian Railways runs several special train services across states.
To date, up to 150 special train services have been announced. These services will fulfill a total of 2,024 trips that are cut through the states.
More than two months
Special trains will run from September 21 to November 30 including Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhat Puja. Special trains will work primarily in the northern, eastern and southern parts of the country and meet trips across several countries.
Southern Railway operates 48 special trains that will meet 684 trips, especially from Hyderabad, Secunderab and Vijayawada. East Central Railway will run 14 trains, which will take 588 trips and run by key stations in Bihar, such as Patna, Gaya, Darbhang and Muzzafarpur. The Eastern Railway will operate 24 special trains attending 198 trips from stations such as Kolkata, Sealdah and Howrah.

Western railways will run 24 special trains and will fulfill 204 trips from Bombay, Surrat and Vadodary. Southern Railway will operate 10 special trains attending 66 trips from Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai.
East Coast Railway will also run trips via Bhubaneswar, Puri, Sambalpur and Southeast Railway, will run trains via Ranchi and Tatanagar.
North Central Railway will operate special trains via Modgeraj and Kanpur and the southeast central railway will be driven via Bilaspur and Raipur. West Central Railway will operate special trains that connect key stations like Bhopal and Kota.

For travel to AZ Bihar and only from Bihar, the railways announced the operation of 12,000 train trips. “While the railways have announced the operation of these services, the calendar will announce in the decayed fashion. For the time being, the calendar consisting of 2,024 trips has been informed, including Bihar.
A detailed calendar of the announced special trains, along with their timing, route plan and stop is available on the IRCTC website and railway stations, the spokesman added.
The railways asked the travelers to book special trains well in advance to ensure confirmed tickets.
