GRP and RPF employees produce confiscated Ganja and accused before the media at Vijayawada Station on Thursday.
In the joint operation, officials of the government rail police (GRP) and officials of rail protection (RPF) carried out a raid on LTT Express at Vijayawada station and two women arrested on Thursday.
They confiscated 30 kg of Ganja, which was transported from Visakhapatnam to Bombai. The defendant joined the train in Pithapuram and Ganja was handed over to Nagesh of Simhachalam, said GRP Circle Inspector JV Ramana.
The arrested were identified as Jaya Alimulla Sardar, a blind woman from Gulmohara kennel, bombai and Laxmi Shankar Natekar, a native of Borivali East in Mumbai, Mahari, said CI.
During the investigation it was revealed that the receiver, Murty, was to accept Ganja in Mumbai. Both women accepted Ganja smuggling for 40,000 GBP from Andhra Pradesh to Maharaštra, Ramana said.
“The accused traveled from the bombje to Visakhapatnam, where they met Nagesh, who arranged Ganja. He came to Pithapurama and handed over Ganja packages to the accused,” said RPF CI Ali Baig, who attended the raid.
Both women traveled in B-4 Coach of LTT Express. They try to trace the supplier Ganja in AP, GRP CI said.
Nine arrested
In a separate case, the Vuyyur Police arrested nine -nine pedlines in the Krishna district and confiscated 2.5 kg of Ganja on Thursday. The team led by Gannavarama Superintendet from the Police of Chalasani Srinivas Rao and the Circular Inspector Tvla Rao carried out raids and arrested Prodlenlery, said R. Gangadhar Rao Superintendant.
