The Punjab and Haryana High Court has suspended the former special judge of the CBI court

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has suspended judicial officer Rajeev Goyal, former special judge of the Panchkula CBI court, with immediate effect. At the time of suspension, he was appointed as Additional District and Sessions Judge of Kaithal.
The suspension order did not specify any reason, although it suggests that it relates to the period when Mr. Goyal was appointed as a special judge in the CBI court.
The May 29 order, issued by the Registrar General of the Court, said: “The Hon’ble Chief Justice and Judges, in exercise of powers under Article 235 of the Constitution of India read with Rule 4 (b) of the Haryana Civil Services (Punishment and Appeal), Rules, 2016. place Mr. Rajeev Goyal on the post of Additional District Court, Panchku and the then Special Judge. Judge Kaithal) suspended with immediate effect from reason for initiating disciplinary proceedings against the officer.”
“During the period of suspension, the residence of Mr. Rajeev Goyal will be at Kaithal. During this period, he will not leave the residence without the prior permission of the District and Sessions Judge, Kaithal,” the order said.
Mr. Goyal was transferred to Kaithal as Additional District and Sessions Judge more than a month ago. The Special CBI Court in Panchkula, Haryana has jurisdiction to hear all CBI cases registered across the state.
