The adoption fee supports the welfare of the animal, including food and medical care,” BBP said.
He added that the chosen name stays with the animal for its entire life, adopters will also receive a certificate of adoption, their name will be displayed near the enclosure, they will be exempted from the 80G tax on 50% of the adoption amount and five free tickets to the zoo, safari and butterfly park will be given away every year for five years. BBP said adopters will not have direct contact with the animal.
“Interested individuals can select a species and submit proposed names to the BBP Naming Committee for approval, ensuring the name is unique and consistent with policy. This opportunity is offered on a first-come, first-served basis,” BBP said.
