The state government’s proposal to bifurcate the existing Udayagiri police station into Udayagiri North and Udayagiri South appears to have hit administrative hurdles, with the home department refusing to create the additional posts required for the new station.
In a letter dated 31 March 2026, the Additional Principal Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs informed the Director General and Inspector General of Police (DGP) that the proposal to create 87 new posts for the proposed Udayagiri North Police Station cannot be considered.
