An investigation by the Thiruvananthapuram city police has cleared the museum police of willful negligence in the case involving actor Maniyanpilla Raju.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) report is said to have said that there was no willful misconduct on the part of the police officials and that immediate action was taken after receiving information about the incident.

Initiated by District Superintendent of Police (Thiruvananthapuram City) K. Karthick, the investigation found that the police followed all prescribed procedures during the investigation.

It was learned that museum police attempted to contact the actor by phone and also visited his residence shortly after the accident as part of their investigation. However, when officers arrived, neither Mr. Raju nor his car were found at his home. In addition, repeated attempts were made to reach him by phone as well.

The report also appears to refute the actor’s claim that he informed the police about the accident. It states that the actor did not call the police to report the incident and that no officer advised him to report to the police station the next morning.

The investigation also found that the command vehicle and museum police personnel arrived at the scene of the accident immediately after receiving the information. In addition, priority was given to providing medical aid to the injured.

The accident took place on February 6 at around 10 pm in front of the Trivandrum Club in Vazhuthacaud. After the collision, the actor allegedly did not stop the vehicle on the spot and did not ask about the health of the injured youths. He appeared at the police station the next day, after which he was released on bail after a medical examination.

The actor claimed that the motorbike hit his car and that he panicked when he saw the accident, which led him to drive away without stopping.
