The large heads falling from one of the passengers launched the new Delhi railway station Stamde, which killed 18 people, the Minister of Railway Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Friday (August 1, 2025) Rajya Sabha.

The Minister shared a high -level committee in the written response to explore the circumstances that this year to Stamdede, 15 February.
He said that there were a gradual increase in passengers, many of which also carried a large head.
The Samajwadi Ramji Lal Suman, a deputy of the Railway, asked the Status of the Committee’s report established to investigate StamPede and the remedial steps taken by the government.

Mr. Vaishnaw said that the high -level investigation committee had submitted its report for assessment.
“According to the report, the unfortunate incident of 15.02.25 became the Overbridge-3 stairs connecting the 14/15 platform at the Delhi railway station. On the day of the incident, sufficient protocols for the crowd management were introduced to handle the total volume of passengers at the station,” he said.
“After 20.15 PM, there was a gradual increase in passenger density.
“Since one of the passengers, a large head fell and the pressure was transferred to the stairs of the stairs PF 14/15, resulting in burial of passengers on the stairs. This led to the incident at 20:48 to FOB-3, which was limited to the foils.
The Minister informed the house that 18 people came in the incident and 15 others were injured.
According to Mr. Vaishnaw, ex-Gratia amount of RS 10 lakh on other relatives of each deceased, which is 2.5 lakh, each on the seriously injured and RS 1 lakh was paid.
“In accordance with this, 33 victims and their family members were paid a total amount of 2.01 CRS,” said Mr. Vaishnaw.
The Minister of Railway said that the government has taken several steps to manage a heavy rush of passengers at stations, including the creation of permanent regional areas and measures to control access – allowing passengers with confirmed tickets – to 73 identified stations, expanding exaggerated legs.
