
The probe into a terrible fire disaster in the Nagarathpete building, which was burned by five people, including several and their two smaller children, continued on Monday with a forensic science laboratory (FSL) and BESCOM officials who investigated to find out the exact cause of the incident.
The police were neighbors and witnessed that they had noticed the sparks from the electric line in the last three days before the incident and brought it to the building owner.
The police also traveled seven people, including the family who lived on the second floor that escaped by jumping to the neighboring building soon after she noticed the fire. The inhabitants are part of the Mohan Lal family, who is an entrepreneur living in the same lane. They told the police that they noticed the strong smoke that filled the building, ran on the terrace and jumped into the neighboring building.
Meanwhile, the FSL team also looked at the area and checked the LPG rollers to eliminate the possibility of leakage of the war.
Victims, Madan Kumar Purohit, 36 years old, his wife Sangeeta Kanwar, 32, their two children Mithesh, 8 and Vihan, 5, and Neighbor Suresh Kumar, 26 years old, were burned to death. Madan rented and worked on the ground floor at his Madan Steels shop, while Suresh worked and slept in Godown on the second floor. The fire, which was suspected of running an electric short circuit, broke out a little after 3 in the morning on the ground floor plus-four buildings on the plot of 36×57 FT in the narrow lane of Rajnanna in Thigalarpet in Nagarathpet.
The fire and emergency staff tried to get into the building because of the narrow strips and climb the building and because of the heat, it took more than 10 hours to retain the fire.
Police based on brother Madan Kumar’s complaints arrested two buildings and accused them of negligence.
