The President of the Uttar Pradesh Ajay Rai on Thursday (September 11, 2025) claimed that he was under the visit of the Prime Minister Narendry Modi to Varanasi. Mr. Rai, shared a video of several police officers entering his hotel room.
“Police came last night in my hotel room in Lucknow, later I was arrested for home arrest in my apartment in Lucknow for a proposed protest against fraud in Varanasi. They could not travel after 15:00, but sent the police to stop us.
Congress President added that every congress worker protests and increases his voice on every street and the village of UP and India. “The police action that stopped me today is out of fear and panic, but it will not stop the workers of Congress, vote for the Gaddi, resonating with ordinary people across the country, even in the voice of Chori’s voice to help Narendra Modi win,” Mr. Rai added.
About 100 congress and Samajwadi Party (SP) were also included in the home arrest in Varanasi to stop protest against the alleged fraud in the presence of the Prime Minister in Varanasi.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Varanasi on Thursday for bilateral interviews with Mauritius’s Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoool. At the Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport he was admitted by the Governor Uttar Pradesh Ananiben Patel and Main Minister Yogi Adityanath before he continued his helicopter on the police lines.
