A media release from the Executive Engineer and River Conservator, Krishna Central Division said that inflows had increased from the local watershed due to recent rain and hence four gates were opened between 9:00 am and 10:00 am to release the excess discharge.

Releases will vary depending on the realization of expected inflows and uses, said the release, warning the public and concerned officers along the banks of the Krishna river both upstream and downstream of the dam.
