The postmortem report on the murdered man confirms multiple deep stab wounds

The post-mortem of B.Biju, 38, who was found dead in a pool of blood in his one-room house near Palayam bus stand on Sunday, revealed extreme brutality, with the latest medical report confirming over 40 injuries on his body.

According to police sources, forensic analysis conducted at Kozhikode Medical College Hospital showed that the victim succumbed to deep stab wounds and cuts, including deep cuts on the body. The investigation team also reported the use of a sharp-edged kitchen knife after investigating the nature of the injuries.

Biju, a dairy farmer, was found dead in a pool of blood around 3 am on Sunday. It was his mother who alerted the police after his room was found locked from the outside by unknown persons following a suspected murder. The elderly woman came to know about the incident when she went to wake him up for routine dairy work.

Suspected involvement of drug addicts

Police sources at the Kasaba station said their investigation was in full swing based on the statements of some of the victim’s close relatives who indicated the suspected involvement of a gang of drug addicts in the incident. Some of his close family members said that Biju was often in touch with the local police to pass on information about suspected drug addicts and addicts, which allegedly drew the ire of the criminal network in the area.

Some of the locals also told the police that Biju had opposed the misuse of an under-construction building near his house by suspected drug addicts in the Palayam area. He also shared the details of some of the suspects with the local police for immediate action.

Senior police officers, including District Superintendent of Police (Kozhikode City) AP Shoukathali, visited the crime scene and reviewed the progress of the ongoing investigation. Surveillance camera images from various locations were collected to allow the probe to progress. The Ministry of Home Affairs also gathered the latest details of the incidents as it was seen as a threat to people who had come to support the ongoing anti-drug operation, Operation Toofan, across the state.
