Theater artist Shashidhar Narendra said that due to loopholes in the existing system, the valor and sacrifices of many great women warriors in Indian history remained unknown to many people.
Mr. Shashidhar Narendra while inaugurating a Kannada play titled ‘Rani Ahilya Bai Holkar’ by Sunidhi Kala Saurabha Sanstha at Sawai Gandharva Hall in Hubballi recently said that staging historical plays is a big challenge.
However, telling history through such plays is important to recall the contribution of great figures in history because drama has the power to make a lasting impression, he said.
“People have forgotten who Ahilya Bai Holkar was. Sunidhi Kala Sourabha has done a commendable job of recalling a great personality through a play,” he said.
Rotary Club’s Basil D’Souza, former director of Rangayana Subhash Narendra, theater artist Veena Atavale and other artistes were present. Subsequently, the artists of the theater group enchanted the audience with their live performance.
