The Pfizer-Sankar Foundation Eye Camp is following 1,113 patients
A two-day free eye screening camp organized by Pfizer Healthcare India Pvt. Ltd. screened 1,113 patients in collaboration with the Sankar Foundation at Aganampudi.
Held as part of Pfizer’s corporate social responsibility initiative, the camp provided free eye examinations, consultations and treatment at a community welfare centre.
Of the inspected, 883 had glasses prescribed, 770 received them on the spot. Medicines were distributed to 435 patients and 75 were selected for eye surgery. On the second day, sixteen operations were performed, the remaining operations were scheduled for the following day, according to the organizers.
Pfizer site manager Ravi Chander Katta inaugurated the camp. Sankar Foundation Managing Trustee and CEO A. Krishna Kumar appreciated Pfizer’s support for eye care among underserved communities.
