64 -year -old petitioner was reportedly hit by a subordinate police inspector (Si) at the Ungaludan Stalin camp, which took place at a government high school in Sathur near Arcot in Ranipet on Wednesday (September 3, 2025) after he asked for a petition he submitted in Tábor.
The video of a viral proposer across social media platforms intervened and invited public outrage over the incident. The police identified the wounded the petitioner as Venkatapath, a native of Sathur, which falls under Arcot Panchayat Union in the district. In 2018 he left the Ministry of Cooperatives. Since then with his wife V. Gnan Soundary, 60, who is a person with disabilities, Mr. Venkatapath lived with his daughter near Arcot.
“As a native of Sathur, I have asked for various government authorities in the last six years to save my forest land from the intervention. The UNGALUDAN STALIN camp was also for the same purpose,” Venkatapathy said.
The police said it was around noon when Mr. Venkatapath handed his petition Mohammed Shahabuddin, the administrative officer of the village (VAO) for the village of Sathur in Tábor. After the initial reluctance, the petition was received by income officials in the camp. However, when Mr. Venkatapath asked for confirmation, officials refused to give it because many times before he asked different authorities for the same problem. As it proceeded into the heated argument, the obligation of the Archota Taluk, Prabhakaran, intervened and allegedly hit Mr. Venkatapath on his chest.
Later Mr. Venkatapath complained about pain. He was admitted to the Taluk Government Hospital in Walaiah, where his condition is stable. Meanwhile, on the basis of the complaint of Vao Shahabuddin, the police registered the case against Mr. Venkatapath, according to Section 221 Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhit (BNS) for an obstacle to a civil servant at the release of public positions. Another probe is taking place.
