In an interesting development, a panel led by the Minister and Congress leader of Satish Jarkiholi decided to build a BJP MLA Vithal Halgekar in the Belagavi Central Cooperative Bank district.
This decision comes the day after the MLC Channaraj Hattiholi Congress that it would not participate in public opinion polls.
Mr. Jarkiholi has repeatedly explained that the elections are fighting with the association of the parties.
On Tuesday, reporters in Belagavi told that the only purpose of creating a panel is to choose a leader who will protect the interests of farmers and keep against farm forces.
The Satish Jarkiholi panel is obviously opposed to the panel, including the BJP MLA Balachandra Jarkiholi and former BJP deputy Anna Saheb Jolle.
The third player in the arena is the panel of the former leader of the deputy and BJP Ramesh Katti.
Mr. Halgekar’s choice by Satish Jarkiholi is interesting, although it is not surprising.
The recent BJP participant, Mr. Halgekar, is a well-known pro-marathi activist. Samithi spent the main part of his public life in Mahashtra. He also founded and operated an educational company and cooperative sugar factory in Khanapore.
It is known to be closer to the Jarkiholi brothers than the other leaders in the district. Satish Jarkiholi also regulates his candidates to a caste matrix by choosing Mr. Halgekar, Marathy, over Mr. Hattiholi, Lingayat, his followers say.
His panel includes some veteran collaborators Lingayat Raja Ankalagi, pointing out. The old -fashioned cooperative bank is one of the oldest coperative institutions in North Karnataka.
The elections of the Bank Board, the main creditor for farmers in the district, are considered prestigious. Several leaders from the district, such as the Katti brothers, the Savadi family, the Jarkiholi family and the Ankalagi brothers, had roots in the bank elections.
The chairman of the Committee to select a candidate from Khanapur Yashwant Birje said on Friday that Mr. Halgekar was chosen unanimously.
On Thursday there was a meeting in Shantiniketan School. He considered the names of Mr. Hattiholi, Mr. Halgekar and social worker Raja Siddhani.
After some rounds of the discussion, it was announced that Mr. Hattiholi had withdrawn from the competition. Later, Mr. Halgekar’s name was announced.
In the elections, a total of 55 cooperative companies for primary agriculture are eligible to vote. However, support of at least 28 companies is necessary for most. Mr. Halegekar claimed to support 35 such companies.
