After a joint statement by India-Afghanistan issued in Nový Delhi on Saturday, Pakistan convened the Afghan ambassador on Saturday and expressed “strong reservations” concerning references to Jammu and Kashmir by Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi, who arrived at Nový Delhi on Thursday.
The Foreign Office said: “It was said that the reference to Jamm and Kashmir as part of India is in a clear violation of the relevant UN Security Council resolutions…” Islamabad also rejected Muttaqi that Terrorism is an internal affair for Pakistan.
The statement stressed that the introduction of guilt for terrorism on Pakistan will not disappear the Afghan interim government of its duty to maintain peace and stability in the region.
The FO underlines the Pakistani decade long support and noted that the country has protected nearly four million Afghans for more than 40 years. With the renewal of Peace in Afghanistan, Pakistan reaffirmed his attitude that Afghan nationals living in the country without permission should return to their homeland, says the PTI report.
She said, “Like all other countries, Pakistan has the right to regulate the presence of foreigners living in their territory and mention that Islamabad continued to grant medical and study visas to Afghan citizens” in the spirit of the Islamic Brotherhood and good neighboring relations “.
The FO expressed the Pakistani desire to see a peaceful, stable, prosperous and regionally integrated Afghanistan.
He reiterated that Pakistan provided support in areas such as trade, economic cooperation and connectivity in achieving this goal to increase socio -economic ties between the two countries.
He stressed, however, that Pakistan is also responsible for the protection of its citizens and expects that the Afghan government will take solid and tangible steps to ensure that its terrorist elements do not use to target Pakistan.
India-Afghanistan a common statement
Afghanistan firmly condemned the terrorist attack, which took place in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, 22 April this year, and expanded the condolences and solidarity of the people and the Indian government. Both nations strongly condemned all forms of terrorism from countries in the region and emphasized the need to support peace, stability and mutual trust throughout the area.
“We consider this act of Pakistan badly. Problems cannot be solved this way … We kept the door open to the discussion. They should solve their problem themselves. Afghanistan has peace and progress after 40 years,” Muttaqi quoted.
