Two new cases of amoebic meningoencephalitis and two deaths from the infection were confirmed by the Ministry of Health on Tuesday
The reported deaths were an 84-year-old woman in Chelembra, Malappuram, and a 68-year-old man in Kannadikkal, Kozhikode. Both deaths were reported on Monday.
Two new cases were also reported on Tuesday, from Vilakuda in Kollam and Chooloor in Kozhikode
This brings the total number of cases of amoebic meningoencephalitis in the state this year to 160 with 36 deaths.
