The leader of the opposition of Thrissur Corporation Rajan J. Pallan raised serious charges against corporation and demanded extensive discrepancies in the channel and the release of cleaning work during the drive readiness on the monsoon.
Mr. Pallan said that sweeping even in the highly laid areas of the city was mainly due to the fact that the corporations could not properly carry out the monsoon cleaning and removal of mud from the channels. He claimed that more than 200 channel cleaning projects were disrupted by corruption, approximately 5 crore spent this year without ensuring tangible results.
He pointed out that the mud removed from the channels in many places was left on the sides without being destroyed, leading to blockage and overflow. Even rainwater on the main roads was not properly forced, he said.
Several areas in the city have experienced floods after heavy rains, including houses and vehicles near Ashwini Hospital and Bheema jewelry. Among the road section Mundupalam-Avenue was immersed and barricaded due to the growing water level.
Mr. Pallan demanded the alert query on the CRORE 5 GBP, which the company spent the company on smaller and major channel cleaning projects, especially the removal of mud and obstacles from the main channels.
He also criticized the company for continuing work on the reconnaissance of the road despite the red warning of the exaggeration and the prediction of heavy rain. The shots of washing during heavy rain on Mara Road were broadcast by media media and widely spread on social media.
