The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab came under scrutiny on Tuesday (Nov 18, 2025) as opposition parties including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress hit out at the state government over the poor law and order scenario.
Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar, who was in Ferozepur to condole with the family of Naveen Arora, son of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader Baldev Raj Arora, who was gunned down days ago, said that “targeted killings are taking place in the state with a clear intention to destroy the release of Punjab while AAP is in charge of communal responsibility.”
“The murders of RSS leader Jagdish Gagne earlier, then Vikas Bagga and now Naveen Arora were all carried out in a similar pattern, indicating a larger conspiracy aimed at spoiling the communal harmony of Punjab,” he said.
Mr. Jakhar alleged that the AAP senior leadership is directly responsible for any deterioration taking place in Punjab.
Punjab President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring said that the AAP government has completely abdicated its authority and criminals and gangsters are killing people with impunity.
“Just two days ago a businessman’s son was shot dead in Ferozepur and the next day another businessman was killed in Amritsar for ransom. Today no one is safe in Punjab,” he said, adding, “Unfortunately, killings have been normalized in Punjab under the AAP regime.”
