There is an effort to clean the deck to include an elephant, on top, which is traditionally mounted, in the old Muharram procession in Hyderabad.
According to sources, the TELANK WAQF (TGSWB) Council, along with officials from other departments, examined the possibility of an elephant arrangement, because the procession is likely to take place on July 6 or 7 July depending on the observation of the Moon.
Correspondence concerning the arrangement usually takes place between the Nizam AWQAF committee, Nizam’s religious confidence and government. However, the cost of transporting and handling the elephant and other related costs is. These expenditures are approximately 5 lakh, while the advance paid before the animal arrives in the city.
“We have already paid 1 lakh 1 from the Lakh £ 5 as a deposit to the elephant owner. While the owner is located in Delhi, the elephant would have to be brought from Jaipur. The forest department points out that the distance to Hyderabad is too great.
The sources noted that, with the exception of the Covid-19 pandemic, when the locking was introduced, the government has constantly arranged an elephant for Muharram and bonal. They expressed confidence that this year a solution will be found. Sources also stated that both Nizamu panels are on board with current measures.
Meanwhile, Mir Abbas Ali Mosvi of Anjuman-E-Ethefufuz-E-Huqooq-E-Mutawalian Mujawareen Wa Khadime-E-Mauroos Association of ASSERGhanas managers, urged the government to provide cash grants to these places of worship.
Mr. Moosvi pointed out that while Badshahi Ashorkhana, a structure preceded by Charminar, and for which it serves as Mutawalli, received 30,000 GBP to help, other Ashorkhanas in the city and across districts – a total of about 700 – need financial support. He submitted the representation of Minister of Ponnam Prabhakar, who was looking for assistance for this purpose.
