A 70 -year -old woman was found dead in her residence in Eastern Velanur in Lalgudi by the Police of May 31.
Police investigations revealed that M. Lakshmi, who lived alone in the Lalgudi cottage, died of head injury. The police said she slept quickly as the wooden pole broke from which the fan was suspended and the device fell on the head and caused serious injuries. The body, which allegedly lay in the house for six days, was sent to the Lalgudi government hospital on postmort and was handed over to the owner of the property where it stayed.
