
Munich mayor Dieter Reiter confirmed that Oktoberfest Fairgrounds will be reopened today. The German police closed the Oktoberfest Exhibition Center, the largest annual fair of Germany, on Wednesday morning after the bombing of the suspect perpetrator explosion in northern Munich, according to officials.

In 1980, Oktoberfest was a place of deadly neo -Nazi bombing. The attack occurred on the evening of 26 September and resulted in 13 deaths, including three children and perpetrator Gundolf Koehler, a student associated with a forbidden far -right organization. More than 200 others were injured during the explosion.
