The International Criket Council announced a schedule for the 13th World Cup ICC Women Cricket World Cup, which will take place from September 30 to November 2, 2025. This year’s tournament means a significant return to India, with Sri Lanka also.
Five places will be organized at the tournament: M. Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengalur, ACA Stadium in Guwahati, Stadium Holkar in Indore, Aca-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam and R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The event will be open with a high profile with India’s hosts in Bengalur on 30 September, signaling the beginning of the monthly competition that will combine some of the strongest pages in the female game.
The knockout phase will begin with the first semifinal scheduled for October 29 in Guwahati or Colombo, followed by the second semifinals on October 30 in Bengalur. The final is set on Sunday, November 2, and the match will be held either in Bengalur or Colombo. The minimum two -day gap between the semifinals and the finals ensures that the teams will have time to prepare for the end of the tournament.
Eight teams will compete for the title: India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Australia will enter the competition as the ruling champions, and in 2022 secured the seventh title after defeating England in the final in New Zealand. Their record makes them the most successful team in the history of the tournament.
When the competition returned to cricket nations and confirmed a strong field, the World Cup 2025 promises to be the main milestone in the growth and global visibility of women’s cricket.
