
On the occasion of an international day against drug abuse and unauthorized trading, the Telelangana prisons were solely carried out by a de-závisé center called “Nivruthi” in a special prison for women in Hyderabad.
Tymya Mishhr, CEO of prison and remedial services, Telangana, said that drug abuse is not only a health problem, but a serious social, emotional and economic problem that affects individuals, families and communities. She stressed that every person affected by addiction deserves a chance of recovery and re -integration.
The Nivruthi Center is aimed at supporting prisoners fighting addictions. It is named after the word sanskrit, which means “liberation” or “retreat”. DG Soumya Misra said that every prisoner has a choice, either to continue the path of addiction and crime, or choose recovery and reform. She said that the department is determined to help those who want to change.
She acknowledged the support of Tharouni, NGO and Condanowti sattyavati from the female team BUMK.
The event was also attended by D. Srinivas, Dig of Alisons (Hyderabad Range), N. Shiva Kumar Goud, Superintendant of Central Prison, Hyderabad and T. Venkatalakshmu Srinadh, Superintendent special prison for women, Hyderabad.
