On Monday (May 5) he returns to the city to the city. The Nisarga two -day Dance Festival, organized by Nrityaaya, promises some quality fare with some leading Indian dancers. And it could not hope for a better environment on the following summer nights: Kozhikode beach.
The second edition of the festival, which is supported by the tourism of Kerala, will have performances in Mohiniyattam, Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi, three classic dances that are very popular in Kerala. However, it is often not that the city hosts big names in these disciplines.
There was Kozhikode edition of the renowned festival Soorya, which brought the best of classic dancers, but it had a short life.
So for dance lovers, the Nisarga festival offers hope. “Kozhikode needs the opportunity to enjoy the classic dance performances of our best dancers, so we decided to organize such an event in Nritylaya,” said the dancer Bharatanatyam Aswathy V. Nair, who curator of the festival along with her dance husband N. Sricant. “Our children should be able to see what the real classic dance is.”
He hopes that this annual matter will be with the support of the government. “Cities like Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur have regular dance festivals,” he emphasizes. “And we should also have one. Kozhikode beach is also an ideal place.”
On the day of the opening, Neen Prasad Mohiniyattam and Vibhar Arecar will perform Bharatanatyam. Rama Vaidyanathan (Bharatanatyam) and Srelakshmi Govardhan (Kuipudi) will dance the next day.
