The Chief Judge India Brvai and the judge of the Supreme Court, Judge Surya Kant, are to plan the opening of the 90 -day mediation campaign conceptualized by the National Legal Services Office (NALSA) and the Committee on Mediation and MCPC to deal with waiting cases from the Taluka courts from the state courts.
The campaign, called “Mediation for Nation”, would begin from 1 July and will continue until 30 September.
The campaign for mediation in Pan-India intends to take over mediation for “every corner and skull” as an alternative and human way of dispute resolution.
“The categories eligible for mediation include marital disputes, claims, domestic violence, reflection cases, commercial disputes, services for services, criminal satisfaction, consumers’ disputes, recovery cases, section and eviction cases, land acquisition matters.”
The press release stated that a special campaign to include existing mediators, including experts who have recently received 40 hours mediation training. Efforts to settle mediation would continue throughout the week according to the comfort of the parties.
The parties could choose to participate in online or offline or in hybrid mode.
Taluka or district legal services would facilitate online mediation within their relevant jurisdictions. The campaign would monitor committees for monitoring mediation of state courts.
