The Mysur Railway Division in the southwestern railway launched a 14 -day green ride on Thursday with a focus on reducing the threat of plastic pollution.
The two -week long ride will culminate in June 5 and mark the World Environment Day, for which the “fight against plastic pollution”, which is also the center of the green unit.
The railway authorities have stated that the initiative aims to expand awareness and support the active participation of railway employees, passengers and the general public in reducing the use of plastics and accepting sustainable procedures.
According to the authorities that have stated that key peaks include activities on the main stations, including Mysur, Davangere, Shivamogg Town and Arsikere, the key peaks of awareness, cleaning units, workshops, installations of plastic bottles, street games (Nukkad Nataks), school proven programs and ecological alternative programs.
The celebrations will end in Vontikoppal Railway Colony, Mysuru, with a valedictory ceremony, which will be attended by the division railway manager Mittal.
The event will include plant distribution to railway families and the achievements of the unit will be presented and will be honored by excellent contributions to individuals and stations, the authorities said.
