Bidar MP Sagar Khandre slammed the Center over the irregularities and paper leaks in the NEET exam and accused the government of “playing with the future of students”.
In a press statement issued on Thursday, Mr. Khandre said that the incidents of question paper leaks and exam cancellations have seriously eroded public confidence in the country’s education system and led to major betrayal of students aspiring for medical education.
He said that more than 22 thousand students across the country had prepared for the NEET examination with the dream of studying medicine.
In Karnataka alone, more than one million students worked hard day and night to prepare for the exam, while parents also made significant sacrifices for their children’s future.
“Despite this, the central government has completely failed to conduct the inspection in a transparent and secure manner,” he said.
Mr. Khandre said that recurring cases of paper leakage, malpractices and administrative errors in the NEET examination threaten the future of students year after year.
“While students spend a whole year preparing for the exam, their dreams are shattered due to the government’s negligence and mismanagement. It is not just an administrative failure but an injustice to the youth of the country,” he said.
He demanded a comprehensive and transparent inquiry into the irregularities in the NEET investigation and demanded strict action against those responsible.
Mr. Khandre also urged the government to create a stronger and more reliable investigation system to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future.
