Search operations supported by a drone for a 43 -year -old fisherman, who feared drowned in swirling downstream in the Nirmal district on Saturday, proved to be futile because he could not be traced until the news last Sunday evening.
The fisherman, identified as a gangadhar from the village of Kannapur, was retrofitted on Saturday, when he went down the dam, in aquatic waters to catch the fish, the sources said.
On Saturday, up to 15 gates of the dam were raised after heavy influx into the reservoir from the Gaddem project. The gates were later closed because the influx of the upper range decreased, the sources were added.
Police accompanied by staff of the power of response to disasters performed an intensive search operation using drones, but in vain.
Meanwhile collector Adilabad Rajarshi Shah together with police superintendent Akhil Mahajan on Sunday inspected the broken section of the Bund between Yashwanthguda and Burnoor Vence in Adilabad rural mandala.
Since the Pengunga River is in a row to release huge influx from the areas upstream in neighboring Mahara, people living in the villages along the river playground were asked to stay on standby.
Meanwhile, Praja Vani was canceled on Monday, a weekly meeting with the departure of complaints to be held on Monday with regard to the prognosis of heavy rains in the Adilabad district in the next two days.
