The high -speed corridor between Bengalur and Mangaluru will soon be a reality, as the Ministry of Road Transport of the Union granted the offer to prepare a detailed project report (DPR), said Captain Dakshina Kannada Brijesh Chowta on Tuesday.
Minister of Road Transport Union Nitin Gadkari told MEPs in his letter 4 June that the DPR preparation contract was awarded on April 30. Meanwhile, the expansion of the existing Bengalurur-manGaluru 75 to four lanes between Hassan and BC Road, whose work began in 2017, is completed.

Eight strips over Hassan

Combined DPR
Captain Chowta urged the Ministry of Railway and Road Transport to be a combined DPR for the Road and Railway Track project along Shiradi Ghat to prepare a message for a high -speed corridor. The highway and the proposed new railway line between Hassan and the mangalur could be built in parallel in the ecological Shiradi Ghat to minimize the environmental impact, he said.
The combined report would also facilitate obtaining the environmental permits from the departments concerned, the deputy added.
