
The Ministry of Health of the Union on Wednesday (April 23, 2025) launched new curriculum based on competences for 10 Allied health professions in cooperation with the National Commission for Allied and Health Professions (NCAHP).
The curriculum covers a wide range of professions such as physiotherapy; Applied psychology and behavior of behavior; Optometry; Nutrition and dietetics; Technologies of dialysis therapies and dialysis therapies; Radiotherapy technology; Medical radiology and imaging technology; Theater technology of anesthesia and operations; Health information management; and medical colleagues.
The new curriculum, aimed at bringing uniformity to the training of allied health workers across the country, is designed to produce worldwide competent experts to deal with the growing prevalence of disease and growing demand for allied services.
“India has led its healthcare workers not only for India but for the international market,” the Ministry of Health of the Union said.
Minister of Health Punya Salila Srivastava said that comprehensive revisions and standardization of the curriculum are a key step to determine consistency in educational content and delivery.
“India has led its healthcare workers not only for India but also for Globe. The curriculum running today sets a scale for the quality of healthcare professionals at various abilities. Mobility and professional recognition for allied healthcare workers throughout the country,” she said.
The Ministry claimed that the success of these curriculum depends not only on their design and content, but also on the strength of systems that support their introduction, including adequate institutional readiness, faculties training, infrastructure development and continuous monitoring to adhere to quality standards.
“The digital curriculum modules will be looked to be made available to everyone to build capacities in order to support the vision of Swastha Bharat (healthy Bharat),” the Minister of Health added.
The Ministry also emphasized the critical importance of the determination of robust regulatory mechanisms and investing in the construction of capacities to ensure effective implementation of newly developed curriculum.
