Minister of Health, Medical Education and Family Care Satya Kumar Yadav ordered to investigate the alleged discrepancies committed by 22 medical staff at the Government Hospital in the Anakapall district.
According to a press release of the Medical and Health Department on Sunday, the team from the anti -corruption office (ABC) carried out a surprising inspection in February 2020 and submitted last month to the Ministry.
On the basis of the ACB report, the Minister stated that a rapid investigation should be carried out and disciplinary measures against 22 hospital medical staff, including the district medical service coordinator (DCHS), nine doctors and 12 head nurses and employees.
The hospital operated the dining room without a valid license and did not have the correct documentation of food administered to patients, the release said. In the dining room she could not serve quality food and nurses did not exercise their duties correctly, the Minister quoted the report.
ACB kept DCHS responsible for being able to oversee the functioning of the hospital, and proposed sanctions for an official as well as disciplinary measures against other 21 medical staff for leaving duties.
Meanwhile, the Minister said the 2020 incident reflects the situation of government hospitals under the previous regime. After the government led by TDP came to power, regular meetings take place to review and monitor the participation in medical staff and check corruption in government hospitals, the Minister said. Officers at the district level were clear that they would be responsible for proper implementation of health systems and the performance of medical staff, he added.
