Trump’s administration allegedly told New York’s court that India and Pakistan had only achieved a “weak ceasefire” only after US President Donald Trump “ordered and offered access to the US with the US to turn the war in full.”

“Maintenance of tariffs is essential …”
Trade Minister Howard Lutnick submitted notes in the submission of international trade court last week.

Lutnick said that the maintenance of tariffs is essential for the ability of the President to perform diplomacy in the real world.
“For example, India and Pakistan-Dvěd nuclear power involved in combat operations 13 days ago-drew on May 10, 2025 with a slight ceasefire. This ceasefire was achieved only after President Trump joined and offered both nations who trade with the United States to reverse in a full scale.”
“The unfavorable decision that limits the presidential power in this case could lead India and Pakistan to question the validity of President Trump’s offer, threatening the security of the whole region and the lives of millions,” he said.
Trump repeatedly claimed that “to settled” the tension between India and Pakistan and that he had said nuclearly armed South Asian neighbors that America would do a “lot of trade” with them if he stopped the conflict.
