
The meeting of the organizations of the teacher, which was convened on Saturday by the Minister of General Education by V. Sivankutty, approved the school academic calendar for the academic year 2025-26.
The meeting nodded at the new working hours for schools (an increase of 15 minutes and afternoon). They start at 9.45 hours and close at 16:15
The organizations also announced their support for the implementation of the academic main plan.
The meeting decided to continue the terminal tests and units tests.
It was decided that comprehensive quality education would be implemented in the future for class I to IX. The minimum entity in the written component of the tests was also approved.
The Minister said that the demand of teachers organization would be discussed to increase the material costs of lunch food. He would also explore the possibility that local bodies would contribute to the share of the noon meal scheme at a meeting with the leading local self -governing institutions.
Technical obstacles related to the unique number of students identity (UID) will be examined. The decision would be taken at the consideration of the number of UIDs available after the sixth working day for determining the number of employees’ positions in the academic year.
The Minister stated that the demand for a change in the ratio of students of students and physical education would be considered from 1: 500 to 1: 300 and the appointment of physical education teachers to a higher secondary and lower base class.
The meeting was attended by representatives of 42 teachers of teachers. The Minister of General Education K. Vasuki and the State Council for Educational Research and Jayaprakash RK training were present.
