Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said that a person can mediate between two inequalities is not possible, because there is no equivalence between terrorists and their victims, in the middle of the repeated claims of US President Trump, “helping to settle” tensions between India and Pakistan.
Mr. Tharoor, currently in the USA, who led a delegation of more parties of Sindoor operation, has made comments in response to the question during an interview in the Washington Foreign Relations Council on Thursday.
“… Mediation is not a term that we are particularly willing to entertain. I will tell you why not. The fact is that it means, even if you say things like a broker or anything else, you suggest equivalence that simply does not exist,” Mr. Tharoor said.
He said that there is no equivalence between terrorists and their victims.
“There is no equivalence between a country that provides a safe refuge for terrorism, and a country that is a flourishing multilateral democracy that seeks to continue their business,” he said.
“There is no equivalence between the state that is the power of the status quo, which only wants to leave its neighbors, where the neighbors disagree with us, and the revisionist force that wants to disrupt the geopolitical arrangements that have existed over the last three quarters of a century. It is possible that it is possible that it is possible, that it is possible, that it is possible.
Since May 10, when Mr. Trump announced on social media that India and Pakistan were mediated by “full and immediate” ceasefire after a “long night” of interviews mediated by Washington.
He also claimed to have told nuclear armed South Asian neighbors that America would do a “lot of trade” with them if he stops the conflict.
After asking how he would characterize the American role in conflict, Mr. Tharoor said “to some extent guess” that the American role would first be to inform, interviews on both sides, and “my government certainly received a number of calls from the US government and we appreciated their concerns and their interest.”
He said that the US had to make similar calls at the highest level on the side of Pakistan, and “our assumption is that it is, because it is a party that needed to persuade this process to stop, where their reports had the greatest effect.
Mr. Trump repeated the claim only on Thursday, when during a meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in an oval office, the US President said he was “very proud” that he could stop the conflict between nuclear powers in India and Pakistan.
“I talked to some very talented people on both sides, very good people on both sides” and said Washington would not make any trade agreements, either “if you are going to shoot and release nuclear weapons that could even influence us.
“Do you know what, I got the war stopped … Now, will I have recognition?
About two weeks after the terrorist attack 22. April in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in which 26 civilians were killed, India launched a Sindoor surgery focused on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan Kashmir on May 7.
India and Pakistan achieved an understanding of 10 May until the end of the conflict after four days of intensive cross -border blows of drones and missiles.
India claims that understanding the end of hostility with Pakistan was reached after direct conversations between the CEO of Military Operations (DGMOS) of two soldiers.
