“Palestinians are asking is the chance and the right to tell our story,” said Palestine Ambassador in India Abdullah M. Abu Shawesh. He spoke at the Palestinian solidarity, which took place on the day of the start of the four -day International Media Festival in Kerala (IMFK), organized by Keraral Media Academy, here on Monday.
Mr. Shawesh, who was the main guest at the event, urged the assembly to keep questions, criticized or raised his voice against genocide in Gaza. “That’s the only way to tell the truth,” he said.
He pointed out that it was 724 days of “relentless” Israeli bombing in Gaza. Almost 1.50,000 tonnes of explosive material were dropped. Israel’s attack claimed lives of 65,000 people, most of whom and children. “Between 12,000 and 15,000 remains missing. Many of them are buried under a little, some disassembled, others have disappeared without a trace. Thousands of children are orphaned,” he said.

The war against the Palestinians took many forms. The first was the television genocide that people from all over the world have seen in the last two years. However, another war, which was equally dangerous, was not more, was Israel’s propaganda war. Its aim was to falsify history and rewrite the story. One of his earliest slogans declared Palestine as a country without people without a country, Shawesh said.
He claimed that the Western media even denied the very existence of Palestine. “They painted us as anarchists, Nejdilu and above all as terrorists.”
He noted that news about the media about Palestine was not enough. “The media must go further to give us a chance to tell our story.” He said they were intentionally focused and killed for revealing “truth”, Shawesh said the killed number of Palestinian journalists, said Mr. Shawesh.
Israeli journalist Gideon Levy appreciated that he was constantly showing courage and integrity in the manifestation of the truth. Social media often censored the voice of the Palestinians. But it also gave Palestinians a tool to share claims of their daily suffering. “Technology allows us to record, photograph and show the world in real time what we can hold on.” He called on the assembly to intensify the reality of Gaza into the world.
Minister of Finance KN Balagopal expressed regret that not everyone was prepared against attack on Palestine. “Kerala stands firmly with people from Palestine,” he said. More than 300 journalists were killed in Gaza. They included not only journalists working in formal organizations, but also those who sacrificed their lives for democracy and humanity, he said. The office was chaired by the chairman of the Media Media Academy RS Babu.
Previously, Mr. Balagopal and Mr. Shawesh started the event together by releasing dragons and balloons with the news “Dragons climbed, as would be Palestine”.
