Yemen’s Houthi Rebel said on Monday (July 7) that the commercial cargo ship they focused over the weekend sank into the Red Sea and identified the last escalation of the group’s naval attacks.
Brig. Gene. Yahya Saree, spokesman for the Houth Army, announced that Magic Seas, Liberius-weaken and Greek vessels, dropped on Monday after being hit by bomb loaded by ships and missiles.
The ship was attacked on Sunday and let it absorb the flames. All 22 crew members left the ship and were safely rescued, according to a statement previously published by Maritime Security.
There was no immediate comment from the Magic Seas owner or the international transport authorities confirming the sinking.
Israel starts strikes on the Yemeni Houth rebels after an attack on a cargo ship in the Red Sea
The Israeli army launched air strikes early on Mondays focused on ports and infrastructure dominated by Yemen’s Houth Rebel, hours after the Iranian group attacked and eventually sank the Liberal-Vojezí Magic Sea in the Red Sea.
The escalation monitors the months of tension in the region, where Houthis has repeatedly targeted commercial transport in what he claims to be a retaliation for the Israeli war against Hamas in Gaza.
Israeli air strikes hit Houthi ports
The Israeli army said it was hit by the ports in Hodeida, Ras ISA, Salif and the Ras Kanatib power plant. In his statement, Houthis accused the use of equipment to smuggle weapons from Iran and coordinate attacks against Israel.
“These ports are used by the Houthi terrorist regime to transfer weapons from the Iranian regime, which are employed to perform terrorist operations against the State of Israel and its allies,” the army said.
The strikes also focused on the leaders of the Galaxy, the carrier of the houthis vehicle in November 2023.
Houthis reacts
Houthi military spokesman Brig. Gene. Yahya Saree confirmed that the group started missiles and drones focused on Israel in retaliation.
“We are fully prepared for a permanent and extended confrontation,” Saree said, promising to focus on Israeli transport and territory until the attack in Gaza.
Attack on the magical sea
The Sunday attack on Magic Seas took place about 100 kilometers southwest of Hodeida. According to Maritime Security Ambrey, Houthis used a combination of missiles and bomb-valuable drone ships.
Ambrey announced that two drone ships hit the vessel, while the other two were destroyed by armed guards aboard the ship. The attack caused fire and serious floods that forced the 22-member crew to leave the ship. Later they were rescued by a passing vessel, confirmed the European mission against the Piracy of Atalanta.
Saree requested responsibility and stated that Houthis focused on the ship because of alleged connections with companies that continue to port calls in Israel.

Voltage in the region
The Magic Seas attack comes when the ceasefire of Gaze’s conversations hangs in balance and in the middle of increased tension with Iran, after the recent American air strikes in Iranian nuclear places during the Israeli conflict with the Islamic Republic.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu traveled to Washington on Monday for meetings with US President Donald Trump.
The transport of the Red Sea disturbed
Between November 2023 and January 2025, Houthi targets more than 100 commercial vessels in the Red Sea, sank two and killed four sailors. The campaign seriously disrupted the major global trade route, which usually carries $ 1 trillion annually.
Although the attacks retreated after a large American attack in March, the sinking of magical seas raises concerns that Houthis can continue their campaign.
