VIT Vice President Sekar Viswanathan launched a 10 km marathon titled ‘Rise and Rush for Green’ at the VIT Vellore campus on Thursday.
Organized as part of ‘Riviera 2026’, a four-day cultural and sports festival held at the VIT campus, the run highlighted the importance of environmental protection. More than 4,000 participants took part in the event, including 1,200 girls.
Faculty members and international students also participated in the marathon, which included busy stretches around Katpadi. Prizes were also presented to the winners.
