The district police in Annamaya on Monday solved the case of murder of a 45 -year -old woman whose burnt body was found in the devalammet Reserve Forest 5th August. Police (SP) Vidyasagar Naida addressed here.
SP said that an income officer filed a complaint against the incident on August 18, after which the case was registered under a suspicious death, which was later changed to the murder case. The deceased was identified as M. Sridevi (27) Ponnetipal in the Madanapalle rural mandate.
The preliminary probe revealed that Guriginjakunta ShivaPrasad Naidu (30) Sundupalli Mandal in the district had developed intimacy with Sridevi a few years ago. The financial disputes and the alleged threat to reveal the affair between them forced him to kill her. 5th August strangled the woman with his sari before he lit the body. Later he covered jewelry belonging to the deceased for 1.5 ₹ Lakhs.
SP said that forensic evidence, CCTV shots and mobile technologies led to arrest.
