Police Vattappar arrested one man for the alleged stamping of her mother to death late on Tuesday.
The police identified the deceased as Oman, 85, from Thekkady. She was reportedly murdered by her son Manicandan, who attacked her in a unwilling state. Reportedly he kicked her twice in the head before he caused more fractures all over her body. Although he was rushed to the Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College Hospital, her life could not be saved.
According to police, manicandan often manipulated his mother. He is suspicious that he attacked his mother for refusing to give him money to get his stopped motorcycle and transfer her real estate in his name.
