
Police Puthencruz arrested a man accused of cheating people by promising jobs abroad. The arrested was identified as Subhash M. Varghese, 48, Zasakkkali. The alleged fraud was made between August 2024 and April 2025 through a recruitment agency running at Kneencherry.
According to the police, the accused allegedly withdrew fraud through the personification using the Aadhaar card and the address of the Kozhikode person. He also allegedly misused the job applicant’s account number, which he turned to his company and made the transactions through it. Allegedly gathered money from all victims by promising to release his visas by April 2025. Then he allegedly closed his business and went to hide.
Police Puthencruz managed to track down despite the misleading address. He traveled by bus to avoid detection. One night he slipped out of his rented house in Vengola after realizing that the police had launched a probe. Since then he has lived with his family in Thiruvilwamale in Palakkad. The police said it was a key accused in the case of the 2009 Ayaz murder and was imprisoned until 2018.
The team led by Puthencruz dysp VT Shajan and inspector N. Gireesh arrested.
