Police Kuppam on Saturday evening arrested a man for the alleged introduction of a misleading contribution on the social media for the Handri-Neeva project Sujala Sravanthi (HLSS). Police Kuppam, which was a complaint of HLSS officials, intervened on false claims that became viral, causing confusion in the agrarian belt. The accused was identified as Nagi Reddy from the Sri Satya Sai district.
Representative of the Police Superintendent Kuppam (DSP) PARTHASARATHY said the accused was spreading invented information, requiring irregular and disruption in the HNSS canal work, and Krishna Waterflow stopped, causing concerns about farmers and the inhabitants of Kuppam and the Palamner institute. Police in the area of computer crime followed the origin of the post and reset the accused.
The police officer said that after verifying his mobile phone, it was found that in addition to publishing invented social media contributions, the accused also resorted to morphine of images of popular political leaders and used them to create false messages and attacks on social media. “We booked him under BNS and it is,” DSP said, adding that further investigation was verified whether there was a greater conspiracy.
DSP said that such misleading contributions would create riots between political and agrarian sections in the Rayalaseem area and perpetrators should abandon such activities.
