Special Court Pocso in Ongola condemned a 28 -year -old man for 20 years of strict imprisonment and imposed a fine of 12,000 ₹ for rape a two -year -old girl. The judgment was declared Judge K. Sailaja on Tuesday, who also ordered the state government to pay the victim 3 lakh as a compensation.
According to the police, the incident occurred 1 January 2021 within the Medarametla Police Station. The accused, Gurajala Mahesh, allegedly attracted a child and committed an attack in a nearby field. After a complaint filed by the police, the police registered the case according to sections 363 and 376 (AB) IPC, as well as Section 6 read 5 (m) of the Pocso Act. Mahesh was arrested 4 January 2021 and five days later fees were filed.
The district of SP B. Umamaheshwar Rao appreciated the investigating officers and employees of the court for their quick probe and the effective solution of the case, resulting in convictions.
