The Belagavi police registered the case against the man for killing his wife in Kamaldinni near Mudalagi from the Belagavi district.
Akash Kumbar killed his 20 -year -old wife Sakshi, stuffed his body under the bed and disappeared, the police said.
The crime occurred three days ago.
The accused fled after the cell phone turned off, the police added.
The victims then complained about the police and said Sakshi was killed for the dowry.
The couple married four months ago.
She suffered from the hands of her husband and sister -in -law for not bringing the amount they expected.
The crime came to light after Akash’s mother returned from the bomb.
On the spot he visited Tahsildar Sreeshail Gudame, a representative of the police director, a circular inspector and other officers from the Mudalagi police station.
